How to connect bank account to Briefcase One (MTD ITSA)

There are 2 ways to turn your transactions into a live bank feed in Briefcase One:

• (1) Directly connect your bank account(s) via open banking OR

• (2) Upload bank statements (PDFs supported) and our AI Autopilot will extract every transaction, assign to the right account, and turn into a live bank feed.

1. Connect your bank account(s) via open banking

Briefcase supports real-time bank feeds for 82+ UK institutions.

• Go to Bank section (left-side panel) → Add Bank → Connect Bank Feed

2. Transform bank statements into a live bank feed

• Step 1: Go to Bank section (left-side panel) → Add Bank → Add Manually → Fill in the details → Create

• Step 2: Upload your bank statements → Statements tab (Bank section) → click on the uploaded bank statement → Assign Transactions → Select the bank account you manually created in step 1
