We work with leading accounting firms and have built Briefcase to help them process financial documents faster and more accurately – without ever compromising on the confidentiality of your data.

Our Approach to Data Security

  • Any receipts, invoices, or financial documents shared with your accountant through Briefcase are protected using industry-standard encryption.

  • All user data is encrypted with AES-256 while at rest and protected with TLS during transmission to ensure end-to-end security.

  • Your information is never shared, sold, or used for any purpose other than what your accountants use it for.

  • Each business’s data stays strictly segregated. All data is stored on secure servers in Europe that are SOC 2 and HIPAA compliant, following strict privacy laws including GDPR.

  • Briefcase uses multi-factor authentication (MFA), adding an extra layer of security so your account stays protected even if a password is compromised.

  • We have signed “Zero-Data-Retention” policies with our foundation model partners. This means your data is not stored, logged, or used to train third-party AI models.

  • Some personal data may be processed or accessed outside the UK or EEA, including the United States. We ensure that appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses are in place for all international transfers in accordance with UK GDPR.
